JoSAA held its first meeting on 2 May 2015 at IIT-Bombay campus. Till 2014, seat allotment procedure for JEE Main qualifiers was conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), but from 2015 onwards, JoSAA will conduct the procedure of seat allocation. Candidates are required to fill their choices from July 2019. Aspiring candidates must carefully follow the guidelines prescribed for the Counselling procedure.
Eligibility Criteria For JoSAA Registration
Not only should the candidate have qualified in the JEE Advanced 2021 but they should also satisfy the performance criteria of class 12.
The candidate is required to have held a rank in JEE Advance 2021 (Planning or B.Arch.) with mathematics as one of the major subjects in class 12. Also, the candidate must have secured 50% marks as an aggregate, no matter which category he belongs to. He can be from General, SC, ST, OBC-NCL or PwD, but securing 50% aggregate marks is necessary.
The candidate should have secured a rank in JEE Main 2021 Paper 1 (B.Tech/B.E). Also, the candidate must have obtained a specified percentage of marks in class 12 or an equivalent examination

The Choice Filling for JEE Main 2021 can be done from 15 June. Choice Locking must be done after careful consideration and before the specified deadline. Candidates must choose wisely because the seats will be allocated to the candidates in the order of the choices
Declaration Of Seat Allocation And Documents Verification:
Seats are allotted on the basis of All India Merit Ranks as well as the choices filled in by the candidates during the Counselling Procedure. Seat Allotment is conducted in four rounds of the Counselling.
Till 2014, seat allotment procedure for JEE Main qualifiers for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs was conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). But, from 2021, the procedure of seat allotment will be carried out by joSAA. All the important dates regarding counselling and seat allocation should be taken into due consideration.
